Yorkshire Dales National Park

The Yorkshire Dales National Park, located in Northern England, is tied first as my favourite place for hiking in England.

Known for its vast rolling hills, dramatic valleys, limestone cliffs and gorges, farming, rivers and waterfalls. I don’t know for sure, but I think it has the highest concentration of waterfalls in England. I have certainly not seen as many as I have seen here.

You will also find a lot of charming traditional villages in the Yorkshire Dales, with tea rooms, quaint shops, and pubs, which you can stop off at on some of these walks.

Some walks are quite well known, and a bit famous (thank you Harry Potter), but you will also find areas which are so wonderfully remote and less discovered, that even on a sunny weekend, you can spend your time walking alone….
